- Choir Canticle: Magnificat in D Luke1:46-55-J. Pachelbel, 1653-1706
Magnificat anima mea Dominum. Et exultavit spiritus meus in Deo salutari meo.
My soul dothmagnify the Lord and my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Savior.
Quia respexit humilitatem ancillae suae
For he hathregarded the lowliness of his handmaiden.
Ecce enim ex hoc beatam me dicent omnes generationes.
For behold, fromhenceforth all generations shall call me blessed.
Quia fecit mihi magna, qui potens est et sanctum nomen eius.
For he that ismighty hath magnified me and holy is his Name.
Et misericordia eius, a progenie et progenies timentibus eum.
And his mercy ison them that fear him throughout all generations.
Fecit potentiam in brachio suo dispersit superbos mente cordis sui.
He hath shownstrength with his arm he hath scattered the proud in the imagination oftheir hearts.
Deposuit potentes de sede et exaltavit humiles.
He hath put downthe mighty from their seat and hath exalted the humble and meek.
Esurientes implevit bonis et divites dimisit inanes.
He hath filledthe hungry with good things and the rich he hath sent empty away.
Suscepit Israel puerum suum recordatus misericordiae suae.
He rememberinghis mercy hath helped his servant Israel;
Sicut locutus est ad patres nostros Abraham, etsemini eius in saecula.
As he promisedto our forefathers, Abraham and his seed forever.
Gloria Patri, et Filio, et Spiritui Sancto,
Glory be to theFather and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost;
Sicut erat in principio, et nunc, et semper, et in saecula saeculorum. Amen.
As it was in thebeginning, is now, and ever shall be, forevermore. Amen.

Scripture
I Corinthians 7:29-31 This I say, brethren, the time is short, so that from now on even those who have wives should be as though they had none, 30 those who weep as though they did not weep, those who rejoice as though they did not rejoice, those who buy as though they did not possess, 31 and those who use this world as not misusing it. For the form of this world is passing away.
