Lord Jesus Christ, bright Sun of the world, On thefortieth day of your Life, a Life without beginning or end,
You were presented in Your temple. Divine Perfection, Rainbow of Redemption, Doorway to the Promised Land.
You commanded the building of that temple. You commanded the sacrifices of the tabernacle and the temple.
You revealed yourself as the mercy seat of God, the Lamb of God. At the blood-sprinkled Ark of the covenant. At the manger in Bethlehem. And on the Holy Cross, the tree of life, you presented your innocence Forme.
And your perfection Forme. Jesus, the Lord and Lamb of the temple, Simeon's Consolation and Anna's Redemption, Enter the most holy place of my heart and mind So that I will know That my death will be peaceful, and that eternal life is mine.
Let the Shadow of Your cross protect me from the power of sin and the fear of death. Today and forevermore. Amen. - *Hymn 48 In Peace and Joy I Now Depart
- Postlude
