O almighty God, of Your great mercy You caused Your Son to be conceived by the Holy Spirit, and to become incarnate of the blessed Virgin Mary accord- ing to the angel’s annunciation: Grant us, by Your grace, that our sinful conception may be purified by His holy conception; through the same, Your beloved Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one true God, now and forever. Amen. - Hymn 268 - On Mary, Virgin Undefiled View
vv. 1, 2, & 4 - Reading: Hebrews 10:5-10 View
Therefore when he entered the world, Christ said: Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but you prepared a body for me. You were not pleased with burnt offerings and sin offerings. Then I said, “Here I am. I have come to do your will, God. In the scroll of the book it is written about me.” First he said: Sacrifices and offerings that were offered according to the law, both burnt offerings and sin offerings, you did not desire, and you were not pleased with them. Then he said: Here I am. I have come to do your will. He does away with the first in order to establish the second. By this will, we have been sanctified once and for all, through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ. - Solo: I Wonder as I Wander
JJ Niles (A Carol in the Style of an Appalachian Folksong) 1) I wonder as I wander, out under the sky, How Jesus the Savior did come for to die For poor on'ry people like you and like I... I wonder as I wander, out under the sky. 2) When Mary birthed Jesus, 'twas in a cow's stall, With wisemen and farmers and shepherds and all. But high from God's heaven a star's light did fall, And the promise of ages it then did recall. 3) If Jesus had wanted for any wee thing, A star in the sky, or a bird on the wing, Or all of God's angels tin heav'n for to sing, He surely could have it, 'cause He was the King. 4) I wonder as I wander, out under the sky, How Jesus the Savior did come for to die For poor on'ry people like you and like I... I wonder as I wander, out under the sky. - Devotion
