- Responsive reading Psalm 28
P: Blessed is everyone who fears the Lord, who walks in His ways. C: When you eat the labor of your hands, you shall be happy, and it shall be well with you. P: Your wife shall be like a fruitful vine in the very heart of your house, C: Your children like olive plants all around your table. P: Behold, thus shall the man be blessed who fears the Lord. C: The Lord bless you out of Zion, and may you see the good of Jerusalem all the days of your life. P: Yes, may you see your children’s children. Peace be upon Israel! All: Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, forevermore. Amen. - Hymn 190 - O Blest the House, Whate'er Befall View

The Pharisees came and asked (Jesus), “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife?” testing Him. And He answered and said to them, “What did Moses command you?” They said, “Moses permitted a man to write a certificate of divorce, and to dismiss her.” And Jesus answered and said to them, “Because of the hardness of your heart he wrote you this precept. But from the beginning of the creation, God ‘made them male and female.’ For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’; so then they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.” - Devotion
